Dr. Elif Güler Ergin
Embryology Laboratory Director
Dr. Elif Güler Ergin was born in Trabzon in 1967. She graduated from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 1991. After working as a medical doctor in various cities, she received training in Assisted Reproductive Technologies at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany. After completing her training as a clinical embryologist at the same university, she worked there for two years, then continued her work at the Zentrum für Reproduktionsmedizin.
In 2000, Dr. Ergin first established the IVF laboratory of Istanbul Eurofertil IVF Center, and later set up and supervised the laboratories of 13 other IVF centers within the EUROFERTIL Group as laboratory director. She worked as laboratory director at the Istanbul Eurofertil Center until 2020.
Dr. Ergin has given numerous presentations at national and international congresses and published articles in international journals. She has contributed embryology chapters to two separate books.
Memberships
She is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the Society of Reproductive Medicine (UTD), and the Turkish Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (TSRM). She is a founding member of the Clinical Embryology Society (KED) and continues to serve on its board.
Trainings
She has worked on andrology at Andrology Laboratory Services in Chicago, on HLA-G and sperm DNA fragmentation at Millenova Immunology Laboratories in Chicago, on IVF laboratory quality control at Dallas IVF Center and Frisco Fertility Center, on time-lapse imaging systems in Billund, on IVM (in vitro maturation) at Biogenesi IVF Center in Monza, and on witness systems and genetic analysis at Genera Centers for Reproductive Medicine in Rome.
Dr. Ergin currently continues her role as Chairwoman of the Executive Board at Bursa EUROFERTIL IVF Center.
